Peter Martin

Peter studied Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at Aston University before working briefly at Tata Steel for 2 years. He then moved to Vale Europe Limited at their Clydach Nickel Refinery where he has worked within the Technical Department for 25 years. Peter is currently the Technical Manager for the site and the department covers the Techical Group , Operational Excellence Group and QA Laboratory. He has been part of the Continuous Improvement initiative on site since 2008 and is a certified Lean Coach. He is also internally certified as a Black Belt in A&I Projects (Six Sigma Projects) and has run numerous improvement projects on site. All this helped towards the site achieving the Shingo Silver Medallion in 2014. As part of the Leadership Team he is active in developing the Strategy deployment system used on site each year to drive the key projects for the site.
