Dr Olivia McDermott

Dr McDermott is an Associate Professor in Operational Excellence in the University of Galway. Her interests are Quality 4.0, Industry 4.0, Lean, Six Sigma, Sustainability and Operational Excellence. She is listed in the 2025 Stanford University/Elsevier Top 2% cited authors in the world in her field and she has published and co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers and edited books. She is a member of the editorial boards of several academic journals and has won several awards and prizes for her published work.
