Damian Costello

Damian Costello is Head of Strategy at Techvie, a collective of ex-establishment insiders dedicated to protecting clients from vendor exploitation. Damian began in product design, and by the late 1990s his products were part of the first wave of electronics out of China. Co-founding Katawave in the mid 2000s, he helped turn the ‘fuzzy front end of innovation’ into a reliable strategic capability. Damian spent the decade up until 2023 as Managing Partner of Decode Innovation, helping Irish and multinational companies find and defend competitive advantage at scale. In Expleo, he got to experience the complexity of multi-national life for the first time, delivering embedded systems to the automotive sector and transformations to life sciences. In 2025, Damian joined forces with long-term collaborator Conor Hayes, founder of Techvie, giving him access, at last, to the technologists he needed to turn even his most aggressive strategies into high-performance realities.
