Barry Taylor

Barry Taylor is an experienced operational leader with over 35 years in the manufacturing industry, spanning multiple sectors and disciplines. As the Managing Director of MEGA—Manufacturing, Engineering Growth and Advancement—he has recently joined , leading a talented and dynamic team that supports a network of 65 manufacturing companies across Mid Ulster, Northern Ireland, driving strategic growth, innovation, and workforce development. MEGA’s threefold mission: to promote manufacturing and engineering as a source of high-value, long-term employment; to create transformational career opportunities that deliver skills for life and support communities; and to ensure education and skills provision meet the evolving needs of its members, with a strong emphasis on LEAN Manufacturing principles. Barry has long been a champion of LEAN thinking—embedding continuous improvement, operational discipline, and value creation into every organisation he's served. His approach is based on individual support and building a culture of empowerment and ongoing learning and development which has consistently led to substantial gains in efficiency, safety, morale and profitability. In 2023, Barry guided his last organisation to its most successful financial year, while earning two corporation-wide awards in Operational Safety and Operational Improvement in 2022. He holds a First Class Honours degree in Leadership Practice (2022) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Executive Leadership (2023)—reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning and excellence in both people development and organisational strategy.
